Biographical Text
Andy Buse, a goalkeeper from Wadebridge who had played in the past for Roche in the Cornwall Combination and for City’s Devon and Exeter League side, made an appearance for the reserves against Swansea City in October 1993. He later briefly played for Weymouth and Yeovil and was the father of two well-known non-league footballers.
Playing a handful of first-team games for Weymouth, and just one for Yeovil Town, he also had stints with Chard Town and Wellington whilst becoming a leisure centre manager and goalkeeping coach.
Andy’s older son Matt was a midfielder with Weymouth and Taunton before becoming part of the Torquay United squad which finished second in Conference National in 2020/21. He subsequently played for Wealdstone, Gloucester, Truro and Dorchester.
Younger son Will followed Andy’s path as a goalkeeper initially with Bristol City (with a loan period at Taunton where he won the Southern League Premier South title) and then Yeovil Town with periods at Bath and Weston-super-Mare.
