Brown, Marvin
Biographical Text
Marvin Brown made a solitary appearance for Exeter City in a Conference Cup game at Aldershot in 2005. Having started at Bristol City he had also played on loan for Torquay United and Cheltenham Town before having a long career in non-league football. His older borther Aaron, best known for his time at Bristol City, had earlier played for the Grecians when on loan from Ashton Gate.
Marvin began his footballing career as a trainee with Bristol City and, without ever really establishing himself in the first team, clocked up nineteen league appearances whilst also enjoying loan spells with Torquay United (four league games) and Cheltenham Town (fifteen appearances) during the 2002/03 campaign.
Back at Ashton Gate he was on Bristol City's books for another season before having short spells with Forest Green Rovers and Tamworth during the autumn of 2004. After trying his luck in Northern Ireland with Cliftonville, he arrived on trial at St James' Park in February 2005 and immediately signed non-contract forms with City allowing him to appear for the first-team in the Conferfence Cup at Aldershot.
Soon moving on again, he joined Yeovil Town in March 2005 before switching to Weston-super-Mare at the start of the 2005/06 where he was to be leading goalscorer. He then appeared for Salisbury City between 2007 and 2008 ahead of returning to Weston-super-Mare prior to two years with Truro City (2010 to 2012) and a later spell with Chippenham Town.
Marvin later renewed his association with Bristol City when he became an academy coach in 2018.
