Matthew was with the U-15's at Exeter in 2000/01, and, with the U-16's developement squad at the Centre of Excellence in 2002/03.

Matthew Wonnacott was at City in 2004/05, he was on the bench in a first team match against Aldershot Town in the Conference Cup on Tuesday 8 February 2005.

He played and scored for City in the Devon Bowl semi-final at Torrington in early 2004.
