Biographical Text

Arran Pugh was with Exeter City until the under-16 stage. Not offered a traineeship at sixteen, he had a long career in non-league football before returning to City to work in the Academy and eventually become its' director.

Playing through from the under-12 stage with City, he was in the under-16 squad in 2004/05 and made occasional appearances for the under-18s on a non-contract basis between 2005 and 2007 whilst attending Exeter College.

A tall defender, he established himself at Tiverton Town in 2008/09 before first playing for Truro City as a twenty-year-old in 2009. Later switching between Dorchester Town and Truro City again, he subsequently enjoyed a season at Taunton Town in 2017/18 as he eventually notched up over 500 games along the way (of which more than half were with Truro).

During the latter stages of his playing career he was working for Exeter City's academy where he took on the role of manager and then director. He also made an unusual comeback in City's colours when, in September 2022, he came on as a second-half substitute in the Devon St Luke's Bowl at Plymouth Parkway.
