Alex was a member of City’s academy during his final two years of school before becoming a trainee in 2019 and remaining with the club until 2021. Whilst still at school he was a member of the City squad that played Buckland Athletic in the Devon St Luke’s Bowl.

He signed for Torquay United at the start of 2021/22 and later spent time on loan at Tiverton Town - where he made nine first team appearances - and Bideford before making his Torquay debut in the final game of the season at Southend United.

During 2022/23 Alex was on loan at Dorchester Town and, after his release by Torquay at the end of the season, signed a contract with Dorchester in May 2023 only to leave the club a few months later to join Willand Rovers prior to returning to Bideford on a permanent basis in March 2024.
