Biographical Text

Henry West played for Exeter City in the Plymouth and District League before the club turned professional in 1908.

Having appeared for St Sidwells United during 1902/03, he remaining on the local football scene and is first-recorded as an Exeter City first-teamer in the friendly against Dawlish on 30 December 1905. He made a solitary league appearance for Exeter City against Tavistock on 7 April 1907. 

[The 1901 census records a William Henry West (20), a shop assistant in Boots, living in Sidwell Street].
