Biographical Text
Leaving school in 2011, London-born Rod spent a year with Exeter City playing for the under-18s in Football League Youth Alliance. Moving to Norwich as a 17-year-old in 2012 for a reported fee of £25,000, the attacking midfielder was part of the Canaries team that won the FA Youth Cup in 2013 coming on as a late substitute in both legs of the final against Chelsea.Progressing to Norwich's under-21 squad, he spent a period on loan at Bishop's Stortford before being released at the end of the 2013/14 season.Initially signing for Conference side Welling United in May 2014, Rod was subsequently loaned to Bishop's Stortford and Grays Athletic ahead of moves to Ware and Havant & Waterlooville.Relocating to the Chesterfield area in 2017 he then turned out over the following six seasons for Sheffield, Newcastle Town, Ilkeston, Bradford Park Avenue, Buxton, Gainsborough, Grantham, Radcliffe, Frickley Athletic and Long Eaton before returning south with Royston Town in 2023 and Hanwell Town a year later.
