Shanye was a young midfielder from London, played in a trial match arranged by Gerry Francis against Bideford in October.

In 2001, he left Woking after playing for them for 17 seasons and making 372 apperances for the Surrey side, including their FA trophy final wins and FA Cup heroics against West Bromwich Albion and Everton in 1991.
