Shane Wye , a  17-year-old from Surrey, played for Exeter City in a trial match against Bideford in October 1983. He later played several hundred times for the successful Woking sides of the 1990s.

Alongside his brother Lloyd, he was a member of the Woking squads  that won the FA Trophy on three occasions in the 1990s as well as reaching the 4th round of the FA Cup in 1991 after beating West Bromwich Albion.
