Biographical Text
Arnold Allison, from Sheffield, was a regular goalscorer for Exeter City’s reserves in the Southern and Western leagues during 1930/31. He failed to make a first-team appearance during his time with the club.
Enjoying success in the Sheffield Churches' Junior League as a seventeen-year-old, he soon joined Chesterfield where he played for the reserves before having a spell with Scarborough. He then had an unlikely season at Wolverhampton Wanderers in 1929/30 at a time when the club had around sixty professionals (including former Grecian Wiff Lowton who was one of the senior players).
A reliable goalscorer for the reserves during single-season stay at St James’ Park, he scored a hat-trick against Ebbw Vale in the Southern League in October 1930.
Arnold died in Sheffield in 1965.
