Biographical Text
David Fox, son of the (then) Exeter City manager Peter Fox, was an age-group player with the Grecians until he left Exmouth Community College in 2000. During this time he played for England at under-15 and under-16 level but opted to do his traineeship with Manchester United. Appearing for England up to the under-20 stage he later played for Blackpool and for Plymouth Argyle where he was eventually to become director of football operations.
Turning professional with Manchester United after his traineeship, he didn't play for the first-team but did have loan periods with Royal Antwerp and Shrewsbury. Subsequently signing for Blackpool in 2006 - where he made 94 l8eague appearances - he went on to play for Colchester United (two spells), Norwich City, Barnsley (loan) and Crewe Alexandra. Then, in 2016, he started the longest phase of his career when he made 128 league appearances for Plymouth Argyle up to 2019.
Having worked as loans manager at Huddersfield Town and Leicester City, he became head of football operations at the newly-relegated Plymouth Argyle in May 2025.
