Born Tavistock 8 September 1970

Robbie had been released after his apprenticeship at Plymouth Argyle, and was playing for Saltash United, when he played in midfield in one game for the Grecians against Torquay United in the Neville Ovenden Football Combination League in 1992/93.

Shortly afterwards Robbie signed for Weymouth and, from there, enjoyed a career in the Football League with Portsmouth, Bristol Rovers and Brighton & Hove Albion. 

Remaining on the South Coast, Robbie played for Havant & Waterlooville and Horndean before returning to Tavistock where he had a stint as player-coach of his hometown club.
