Biographical Text
Danis Salman was a vastly-experienced defender when he had a short trial with Exeter City in 1992. With over 300 games for Brentford to his name, he had recently left Plymouth Argyle and was soon to join Torquay United.
On the books of Arsenal, Tottenham and Queens Park Rangers as a youngster, he signed professional for Brentford in 1975 and made 325 league appearances during an eleven-year stay. He then added ninety-odd league appearances to his tally with Millwall before enjoying 74 league outings with Plymouth Argyle.
Leaving Home Park in 1992, he played in several midweek Football Combination games for Exeter City but was unable to secure a contract. Dropping down a level he agreed a short-term deal with Torquay United and soon found himself on the wrong end of a 5-0 Football League Trophy defeat at St James' Park as he went on to make twenty league appearances for the Plainmoor club.
Soon retiring he had a spell as commercial manager at Torquay before settling in Plymouth
