He was an amateur who played for the Reserves at Exeter from 1909 to 1912he played as a back and was described as " a back of rare solidity."

He continued to play for the reserves in 1910/11 and on the 3rd December 1901 played in goal for the reserves against the Royal Marines, City won 7-0.

He may have played for Dawlish in the 1920's.
