Mark Bennett

Mark was local centre-half who played for the youth team against Plymouth in a 1-1 draw in the 1984/85 season.

After leaving Exeter, Mark played a large number of games for a Exeter Civil Service.

Mark was remembered by the Devon and Exeter League who wrote the following

LEADER & LEGEND OF A MAN (7-11-2017)

On the 7th November 2017 we lost a very dear friend and courageous man in Mark Bennett, "Benno" to all who loved him. I had known Mark since he was a youth player with Rennes United & Alphington refereeing his games and one could see at an early age he was a born leader.

A role he was so magnificent at when skippering Jimmy Webbers most successful Exeter Civil Service teams in the 90's and well loved by all his team mates.

Mark Bennett has passed away after bravely fighting cancer for the past two years. A true Exeter Civil Service legend and will be sadly missed by all that knew, played with and against him. RIP Benno a lovely man husband & father and a true warrior.
