Biographical Text

Goalkeeper Charlie Waller, of the Royal Garrison Artillery, played three games for Exeter City in January 1921 as cover for Dick Pym. 

With regular goalkeeper Dick Pym sidelined through injury, Exeter City moved quickly to sign Charlie Waller in January 1921 who was stationed with the Royal Garrison Artillery in Plymouth. He had made guest appearances for Fulham and Clapton Orient during the First World War and had also played for the Devon County side. Making his debut against Brighton and Hove Albion at St James’ Park on 15 January 1921, he played three games in total.
