Andy Baird played as a trialist in the pre-season games in Finland at the start of the 2002/03 season.
He also played at St James Park in the pre-season matches against Birmingham City and Walsall. 

Born in East Kilbride, he started his professional career as a trainee at Wycombe. He made 79 appearances before being released at the end of the 2001/02 season. After a very short trial with the Grecians, he joined Brackley Town and stayed there for 3 seasons, moving to Banbury Town in 2005, again after 3 seasons he joined Oxford City. He left Oxford in 2010.
