Biographical Text

Having already played for St Sidwell’s United, Fred Wallage appeared in the first side to bear the name of Exeter City in September 1904. He did not appear after the 1904/05 season. 

Formerly with Exeter United, he played for St Sidwell’s United in in the 1903/04 season before featuring in 12 out of the 14 league games played by Exeter City in 1904/05. There is no record of him subsequently re-appearing for the first-team.

The 1901 census for Exeter records a person of the same name living in Clifton Street working as telephone inspector, aged twenty-two and born in Cambridgeshire. Living in Folkestone in 1911, he died in Kent in 1924.
