Biographical Text
Nick Murphy, formerly with York City, had a trial with Exeter City in September 1986. Later playing for Tadcaster Albion, he was killed in a car crash in 1998.
Aged twenty at the time of his brief stay at St James’ Park, he was a centre-back who joined York City as a trainee and went on to make a single first-team appearance in the Football League Trophy.
With no offers to remain in the professional game he played for Tadcaster Albion, his local club, and was aged thirty-one when he was killed in a car crash in September 1998.
