Brett played for the under 16's in 2001/02 at Exeter City and was a reserve team player in 2003.

In 2019 he started his 6th season at Willand Rovers, having been the managers' player of the year in 2018/19, when he made 41 apperances scoring 4 goals.

He had previously played for Elmore and Cullompton.
