Biographical Text

Tommy Skuse, a seventeen-year-old winger from Bristol Rovers, appeared for Exeter City's reserves during the 1957/58 season before joining Worcester City for whom he scored in the January 1959 FA Cup win over Liverpool.

Having appeared for Bristol Rovers reserves during the 1956/57 season, Tommy made a sufficent impression in the August 1957 practice games to be offered a chance by City. Appearing for the reserves in the Southern League between September 1957 and March 1958, he soon left to join Worcester City where former Grecians' manager Bill Thompson had recently been appointed secretary-manager. Breaking into the team the following season, Tommy - then eighteen - scored the first goal when Worcester beat Liverpool 2-1 in the FA Cup in January 1959.

Making well over a hundred appearances for Worcester, and always a regular goalscorer, Tommy remained in the Midlands for four years until signing for Batn City in June 1962. Known to have appeared for the Romans against the Grecians' reserves, he is also understood to have played for Redditch, Halesowen and Cinderford and possibly Trowbridge Town and Weston-super-Mare.
