Biographical Text

Scoring five times in nine games for Exeter City in the late-1920s Edward Wade, once with Burnley, had arrived at St James Park from New Brighton. He later played for Aldershot. 

He started his career with South Shore, in the Fylde League. He then joined Burnley for one season, where he played 5 league matches, before signing for Lytham in the West Lancashire League. He got another Football League opportunity at New Brighton, singing for them in 1924, and he netted 24 goals in 72 Third Division North outings.

Moving to Exeter City in the summer of 1928, he made his debut in a 1-0 defeat at Southend United in August of that year. Despite scoring two goals in successive matches against Norwich City and Brighton and Hove Albion, he did not figure regularly in the Grecians team. Released at the end of the season he signed for Aldershot.
