Long-serving Plymouth Argyle defender, and future Torquay United manager, Paul Wotton had a trial with Exeter City as a fifteen-year-old.
Paul Wotton was a 15-year-old from the Plymouth area when he played in Exeter City's colours against Clyst Rovers on 23 February 1993.
He became an apprentice with his home town club later that year and, having made his first-team debut in 1995, made nearly 500 league and cup appearances for Argyle between 1995-2008 and 2012-14. He also played for Southampton and Yeovil Town with a loan spell at Oxford United.

After finishing playing Paul became first-team coach at Home Park and later assistant manager. His time at Argyle came to an end in April 2019 with the sacking of manager Derek Adams.
In July 2019 Paul became manager of Truro City before switching to Torquay United in 2024 who he led to the runners-up spot in National League South in 2024/25 before losing in the play-offs.
