Mike Veale was a young "B" team forward, who made his debut for the reserves in a friendly against Chudleigh, away, on the 5th January 1952, City won 5-4 and he scored 4 goals. He helped the "A" team reach the final of the Devon Senior Cup in 1954, he played as centre-half against Beer in the semifinal in February 1954.
He played a large number of games as Captain for the Colts in the Exeter and District League.
