John Blackmore - son of former Silverton, Exeter City and Bolton Wanderers forward Harold Blackmore - was aged sixteen when he led the attack for Exeter City Reserves at against Dawlish in a friendly on 30 September 1950. Playing as an amateur he later appeared for the reserves in the Southern League in 1951/52.
