Gerald Ware was a twenty-year-old from Taunton who featured in the 1953/54 pre-season practice games. Previously appearing for Newport County's reserves, he was a centre-half and later played for Exeter City Reserves against Tonbridge in the Southern League in October 1953.

He later turned out for Glastonbury.
