1960
Len Blackmore
Len Blackmore, a goalkeeper, played 6 times for City reserves in the Western League in 1960/61. Alan Jones had left Exeter in October 1960 to report to Aldershot for his two years of National Service. This left the club with one goalkeeper, and to temporarily overcome the problem City they borrowed Newton Abbot Spurs goalkeeper, Blackmore, who will played his first match for the reserves at Weston Super Mare a few days later.
On the 23rd November 1960, as a gesture of appreciation, for allowing Len Blackmore and Brian Turner to play occasionally in the reserve team, Exeter City paid the £100 bill for part of Torquay's floodlighting system to be installed at the recreation ground at Newton Abbot Spurs
