The New Recreation Ground was the home stadium of Grays Athletic from 1906 until its demolishment in 2010 – Grays currently groundshare with Aveley F.C. The record attendance at the stadium of 9,500 was set in 1959 during an FA Cup tie with Chelmsford City.
