1937
George Green
George signed on loan from Bradford City in 1937, he played some trial matches for the Reserves, and was unlucky to be injured in training before the season started.
He was released and signed for Yeovil on the 26th October 1938, as reported in the local paper:-
"YEOVIL SIGN EXETER TRIALIST.
George Green, the 22 years old inside forward, who joined the City on a month's trial but was not retained, has signed on for Yeovil and Petters United, and will play for their reserve team on Saturday next against Bristol Rovers "A" team. During his short stay at Exeter Green did not have a very good chance of settling down, for he injured an ankle during early training before the season started. Before coming to Exeter he played for both Bradford City and Bradford Park Avenue."
George had shown outstanding skill as a schoolboy footballer, and Bradford City, found him a job on the ground staff, as they could not sign him as a professional because he was under 17. From Valley Parade he made the short journey to Bradford Park Avenue, where he remained for a couple of seasons.
He was a guest player for Aberdeen during World War 2.
