Born in Norfolk in 1907, but with previous football experience in Kent, played as an amateur for Exeter City’s reserves at right-half on occasions in the Western and Southern leagues between 1932 and 1933. Later turned out for the club in the Devon and Exeter League in 1935/36. Continued to live locally and died in Exeter in 2003 in his mid-nineties.
