Biographical Text

Jack McJennett, a right-back from Cardiff City, joined Exeter City at the start of the 1932/33 season but did not appear for the first-team.

Had been a professional with Cardiff City for five seasons making five Football League appearances. Reportedly a player of promise at one stage, prompting Sunderland to make an offer for his services, his career at Ninian Park had stalled when he arrived at St James’ Park in the summer of 1932.

Making appearances for Exeter’s reserves in the Southern and Western leagues, the form of Jimmy Gray - with Dick Hughes ready to switch positions - blocked Jack's path to the first team and he moved on, still only twenty-seven, without playing in the Football League for the Grecians.

He died in South Wales in 1954.
