W Godbeer, from Friernhay, played in goal for Exeter City reserves in the Western and Southern Leagues. He played on the 10/10/1931 against Newport County, and continued to play throughout the season.

He returned to play for AFC Friernhay in the late 30's and was part of there Devon Cup winning side in 1936/37
