He was a forward at Tiverton Town from the 1920's to 1947 where he scored over 150 league and cup goals, playing mostly at centre-forward, his most prolific seasons at Ladysmead was in mid 1930's.
After leaving Tiverton he played for Silverton, and was a member of their unbeaten team that won the Devon Senior Cup and the Tiverton and District Championship in 1949/50.
