L. Turl

L. Turl, born in Exeter and a former Devon County player,  made his debut for Exeter City Reserves, as an outside-right, in a Western League fixture against Bath City on the 6/4/1927. 

He was described as " a strongly built fast and capable player, who controlled the ball with a minimum of delay and possessed a really powerful shot"

He continued to play in 1928/29, including the practice games, he scored in the first one on 11th of August 1928. He played a large number of games throughout the season for the reserves in the Western and Southern Leagues.
