Russell Perrett, a former Portsmouth appprentice, had a spell with Exeter City in 1991/92. Later playing for Lymington, he rejoined Portsmouth in 1995 and also appeared for Cardiff City, Luton and Bournemouth.
Appearing for Lymington whilst at school, he had become a trainee with Portsmouth in 1989 and had recently been released at the age of eighteen when he arrived at St James' Park. A defender, he first appeared for the reserves against Torquay United in October 1991.
Soon heading back to Lymington, he rejoined Portsmouth in 1995 where he made 72 league appearances followed by Cardiff City (29), Luton Town (99) and finally Bournemouth, his local club, where he had just ten league outings before retiring due to illness.
