Matthew Martin, from Worcester was on trial from Solihull Borough in 1989. He played as a Centre-forward against Cullompton on the 14th of October 1989, as well as a few games for the A-team.

The Express and Echo reported 

"Matthew Martin, an 18-year old striker from Solihull, has been on trial with City this week. He was recommended by the club's Worcester scou Alan Wood. The youngste played for the A team agains Cullompton last week, had a 20-minute run-out for the res erves on Wednesday and com pleted his trial at Hatherleigh today. He will now return to the Midlands but is likely to b invited back for further assess- ment later in the season."
