Scott played in goal as a trialist for Exeter City reserves against Bournemouth on the 20th of October 2009, in the Totesport.com Combination

He was with Celtic, when he joined City. Starting his career with the Glasgow club in 2007, he never made a 1st team appearance but what part of the U-19 youth side that won a league and cup double.

In 2007 he signed on loan at East Fife, where he made 11 apperances.

When his contract at Celtic expired in the Summer of 2009 he joined City on trial, but because he was under 25, Celtic were entitled to a developemnt fee, so Exeter (and Lincoln, where he also trailled) made no offer.

Scott took his case to FIFA although he ultimately lost and spent six months without playing.

In 2010 he joined Queen of the South, making 6 apperancs and Dundee playing twice. He then joined Partick Thistle, staying for 5 seasons making 127 appearnces before signing for Ross County in 2015, he played 125 times at Ross, before rejoining Partick Thistle in 2019.
