Sheku Kamara was one of eight trialists who played for Exeter City in a friendly at Hayes and Yeading on 1 August 2007. He was a former Charlton Athletic trainee who had spent a season at Watford before turning out for the Grecians. 

Sheku wasn’t offered a contract by City and briefly joined Grays Athletic then in the Football Conference. 

On 1 May 2008 he was sentenced to eight years in jail for his involvement in an armed robbery.
