Born Taunton 1992

Ben, from Taunton and son of former Exeter University and Taunton Town goalkeeper John Palmer, was at Exeter City with the under-15s development squad at the Centre of Excellence in 2007/08. Prior to this he had spent six years at Bristol City’s academy. 

After leaving Exeter City, Ben played for Bishop’s Lydeard and then stepped up the ladder to play for Bridgwater Town before joining Taunton Town in 2016. After playing around fifty games for Taunton, Ben moved to Bideford in January 2017 where he played a further 60 games.

After Bideford, Ben signed for Willand in 2019 leaving them to play for Barnstaple in 2021/22 followed by a two-year stint with Axminster Town whilst continuing to work as a teacher in Somerset. With a change of management at Axminster during the summer of 2024, Ben switched to Honiton Town where he became a first-team regular until January 2025 when he moved to Penzance upon obtaining a teaching position in West Cornwall.
