Rod was on trial at Exeter in the Summer of 1996.

Born in London on the 20th of March 1967 he was playing for Colne Dynamoes when Walsall signed himin 1990, he played 149 games for them scoring 40 goals.

In 1995 he signed for Partick Thistle where he played 42 games scoring 11 times before being released at the end of the season.

After his trial at Exeter he played 12 games for Southport before signing for Chester in November 1996, he went on to play 54 times scoring 11 goals.

He then dropped into non-league football with clubs including Winsford United, Accrington Stanley, Runcorn, Barrow, Northwitch Victoria and Droylsden.
