Biographical Text
Darren Davies was with Tottenham Hotspur when he had a short trial with Exeter City in 1995/96. As well as an English non-league career, he later played in Wales and Scotland and coached in Australia. He also played for Tiverton Town.
Darren played for City's under-18 side in the Devon and Exeter Youth League possibly with a view to a loan move. With nothing forthcoming he returned to White Hart Lane and, after being capped by Wales to under-21 level, remained at Spurs as a professional until 1998 when he returned to South Wales to join Barry Town where he played in the Champions League qualifying stages. He then played in the Scottish League for Greenock Morton and Stirling Albion before having a short spell at Dover. Switching next to Forest Green Rovers, he thereafter played around fifty games for Tiverton between 2005 and 2007 ahead of moves to Merthyr Tydfil and Port Talbot Town
Moving to Australia, he continued playing before embarking on a coaching career with Melbourne Victory and Brisbane Roar alongside working with the Australian under-20 squad.
Heading back to Wales again in 2020 he coached Swansea City under-16s and under-18s at a club where his father had been a professional in the 1970s.
