Anthony Tonkin

Born 17 January 1980 Penzance. 

Anthony, a left-back from Mousehole, was on trial at Exeter in 1996/97 and played one game in the South West Counties Youth League.

Returning to play for Mousehole - where his family featured prominently - Anthony later played for  Falmouth Town before taking a big step upwards to join Yeovil Town in 1998. In 2002 he moved to Stockport County followed by Crewe Alexandra in August 2003 for a reported fee of £150,000. After around ninety appearances in three years at Gresty Road, Anthony was released in 2006 and returned to Yeovil.

At Yeovil Anthony had a period on loan at
Grays Athletic before moving on to play for Forest Green Rovers, Cambridge United, Oxford United and Aldershot Town. In 2015 he dropped down the leagues to play for Frome Town.  

By this time Anthony had gained a business degree from the University of Gloucestershire followed by a postgraduate qualification in quantity surveying from the College of Estate Management. As of 2023 he was working as project surveyor with a house builder in Buckinghamshire.
