Albert Tompkinson, a native of Burslem, signed from Glossop and made a solitary goalscoring Southern League appearance for Exeter City in January 1912. 

Arriving from Glossop North End, Albert signed for Exeter City at the start of 1912 and played one game for the Grecians on 6 January 1912 when he scored in the 4-1 defeat against New Brompton.

Albert was released at the end of the 1911/12 season.
