Harold was a St Luke's College student, who played as a forward. He played in a friendly against Plymouth Command on the 27th of December 1949. In front of 3400 spectators at St James' Park.

In February 1950 he played and scored for an FA Amateur X1 at St James Park in a representive match againist the Universities Athletic Union in a match that the Amateurs won 4-0
He made his debut in the Southern League for Exeter City on the 8/3/1950 against Merthyr.

Harold was orginally from Cornwall and was a Cornwall County Player.
