Nephew of Dean Sturridge (who mainly played for Derby County but spent time on loan with Torquay United) and brother of Daniel Sturridge (Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and England), he played and scored in a midweek friendly for Exeter City against Cullompton in September 2000.

He later ran a football academy and worked as an agent.
