A compatriot of Brazilian Santos Gaia, who played for Exeter City between 2002 and 2006, Volmar had arrived from Rio de Janiero with Santos in July 2022 when both of them played in a game between two sets of trialists in advance of what proved to be a chaotic season for the Grecians. 

Whilst Santos won a contract and became a poplular player for City, nothing more was heard of Volmar.
