Volmar played in a pre-season trial game at Exeter City in a friendly between two teams of trialists, on Wednesday the 3rd of July 2002, before the club left on a short tour of Finland.

He was a midfielder who had flown in from Rio, with Santos Gaia. Both of them played in the game.
