Che Wilson, ex-Norwich City and Bristol Rovers, was with Exeter City during the 2002/03 pre-season. Not securing a deal, he dropped out of the professional game for a short while before returning with Southend United.
He had recently been released from Bristol Rovers where he had made 75 league appearances and, with City not in a position to offer a deal, he briefly played for Cambridge City before signing for Southend United in 2003. Enjoying in excess of a hundred league outings during his time at Roots Hall, he also had loan spells with Rotherham and Brentford.
After spending time in New Zealand, he studied for a degree and later a masters in sports biomechanics at Loughborough before becoming head of football at both Cambridge and Bath universities.
