Walter Gerrard  a 20 year old Scottish forward, who was on amateur forms with a Scottish First Division side, joined for a weeks trial with the Exeter City on the 16th March 1964. He played in the forward line in the Western League on the 27th March 1964 against Bideford at Bideford. And on the following day scored against Frome in a Western League game at Home.
