Scott, the son of Peter and nephew of Martyn was an associate schoolboy at Exeter City before he joined Tiverton in 1997, he has played nearly 400 games in two separate terms at Tiverton, firstly form 1997 to 2003 and again from 2015 to 2020.

Scott moved to Forest Green Rovers in 2003, playing against Exeter City in Exeter's first season in the conference. 

He then went on to play for Bath City, Newport County and Chippenham Town before being appointed manager of Willand Rovers in the summer of 2013,  following Willand's  victory in the League Cup in 2015 Scott stepped down and returned to Tiverton in a dual role as player-coach.
