Greg Moffatt had a brief trial with Exeter City during 1985/86. He had played in the Football League for Chester. 

Starting as a youth player at Chester, he made seven league appearances during 1982/83 before having spells with Olympiakos Nicosia (Cyprus) and Naxxar Lions (Malta). Seeking to re-establish himself in the Football League, his trial at Exeter was ultimately unsuccessful and he went on to play for Bangor City, Rhyl, Oswestry and Caernarfon Town.
