Tony Guard
Tony Guard was one of the many players that Colin Appleton persuaded to trial at Exeter City.
The ex-Swansea City midfielder trained with Exeter City in the 85/86 season and played for the reserves against Bristol City (away) in 1-1 draw where Jamie Harris scored the City goal.
He had played for Swansea City during the 1983-84 campaign. From Swansea he was an apprentice at the Vetch Field and turned professional in April 1982.
Tony was released by Swansea City in May 1984, and later played for Australian side Perth Azzuri, then in Singapore and Finland.
